Privacy, in plain language
I'm not a lawyer. I asked a cousin who works in IT down in Knoxville to read this before I posted it. Here is what the site does with information about you, written the way I would explain it in person.
Who runs this site
I do — Bobby Ogle, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. If you want to reach me about anything on this page, the email on the contact page is the one that works.
What the site collects when you visit
Standard web server logs: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time you asked for it, and your browser's "user agent" string. That's the same information every website on the internet gets by default. I keep those logs for about 30 days and then they roll off. I use them to see if a page is broken, not to track individuals.
If you fill in the contact email, I have your email address and whatever you wrote me. I keep correspondence in my inbox like anybody else; I don't share it with anyone, I don't sell it, and I don't put anyone on a marketing list.
Analytics and advertising cookies
I run small search ads so people planning a trip can find this page. Those ads use measurement tools from Google — Google Ads conversion tracking and Google Analytics-type measurement. If you visit through one of those ads, Google may set a cookie that tells them whether the ad brought you to the page. That is standard advertising measurement and nothing more. I do not run Facebook, TikTok, or other social-media pixels on this site. I don't run retargeting ads either.
Your browser has a "Do Not Track" setting; this site respects it, meaning if you have DNT on, I ask any ad measurement tools not to log you. Browsers also let you clear or block cookies site-by-site, and that is a reasonable thing to do if you don't want measurement.
What the site does not do
- No account signups. There's nothing to log into.
- No comment system. Nothing public is tied to you.
- No ticket sales. I don't take payment information. Ever.
- No sharing data with brokers or third parties beyond the ad measurement described above.
Children
This site is written for adults planning a visit. It is not aimed at kids under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
A note for California visitors (CCPA / CPRA)
If you live in California, state law gives you the right to ask what personal information a site has about you, to ask that it be deleted, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" for advertising. I do not sell personal information to anyone. The only "sharing" that could technically apply is the ad measurement cookies described above, and you can opt out of those by clearing cookies for this site, by using a browser with tracking protection on, or by writing to me at the contact email with "CCPA opt-out" in the subject and I will note it in my log.
Changes
If I materially change this page, I'll put the date at the top. The current version was written in autumn 2026.
Questions? The contact page has the one address that works.
